SAVING WALDEN’S WORLD IS
SAILING FOR SUSTAINABILITY
The Film Tour
In July and August, Jim Merkel will be taking “Saving Walden’s World” to a series of screenings by sailboat, ‘Sailing for Sustainability,’ with the goal of arriving without fossil fuels to as many of our Maine events as possible. We will use an electric vehicle when necessary, highlighting one of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals at each screening, arriving at the UN in NYC for the Summit of the Future meeting September 22-23.
Our first screening on this tour was in Belfast, Maine on May 14, focused on Goal #1, No Poverty. Our second stop was in Fredericton, New Brunswick, on May 29, supporting Goal #2, Zero Hunger. This tour will continue with extended destinations throughout the US for the balance of 2024.
Coming to Harbor Theater in Boothbay Harbor on Saturday, August 17, 2 pm.
