Triangle Shawl Knitting Workshop 9/8!

Event Date

Learn how to knit a triangle shawl with Annie Buchholz on Friday, September 8th from 9-11am!

Each student will receive two skeins of Maine made wool, circular needles, stitch markers and a pattern they get to take home at the end of class! The yarn included in the class is made by Jagger Spun in Springvale, Maine. You can pick your own colors at the beginning of class! Annie will help you use a ball winder before we get started.

This is a beginner class for people with a basic understanding of knitting. It is helpful to already know how to do the knit and purl stitches. Annie will teach you how to do a "garter tab" cast on, place stitch markers, and customize your color pattern. Connect with local fiber enthusiasts and learn how to make a beautiful and easy triangle shawl.

If you have any questions about the class or need a knitting refresher beforehand, reach out to Annie@SouthportGeneralStore.com and she would be happy to help you! Class will be limited to 6 people.

Annie Buchholz, one of our managers of The Barn, has a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Knitting was one of Annie's first creative mediums. She has been knitting for 20 years and even had the chance to take a sculptural knitting course in college where she learned to use knitting as an element in conceptual art pieces. Nowadays, Annie is hooked on triangle shawls. She makes a couple every year for her friends and loves creating her own colorwork patterns.

If the class is sold out, you can email Annie@SouthportGeneralStore.com to be added to the waitlist. Cancellations less than 48 hours in advance are non-refundable. Call The Barn with questions - 207-633-0402
