Watercolor Batik Workshop Wrap Up

Huge thanks to all who came out and made our sold out Watercolor Batik workshop a beautiful success! It was so much fun to host you all and learn this challenging technique from Jeanne Lally.

Jeanne walked us through how to apply layers of melted wax and watercolor to create bold images with depth and texture. We learned hands on about the magic of rice paper and were humbled but the skill that is required for Jeanne to make her stunning work. At the end of class we used an iron to remove all the wax!

We have prints and cards of Jeanne’s work in store, but we were blown away seeing the large scale originals. This workshop made us appreciate her art work even more! This is what I love most about both our workshops and our Artist Talk series. There is always so much more to the story than we see at first glance.

Our summer workshops are now listed on our website!
