Aldermere Farm seeks submissions for Agriculture Poster contest
ROCKPORT — Maine Coast Heritage Trust invites students in grades third-twelfth to submit an original poster design for Aldermere Farm's annual Agriculture Poster contest. Each year students in the Midcoast are encouraged to submit a poster that is an advertisement for a local farm or Maine farm. Students research the farm of their choice in order to understand the commodities (products) that the farm grows, makes, and sells and then represents that farm and their goods as an advertisement on a poster.
Posters designs have ranged from elaborate paintings to basic line drawings. Participants are encouraged to be creative with their media. Four first place and four second place prizes will be awarded. The deadline for completed posters is Thursday, April 14. All the posters will be on display at Aldermere Farm's Calf Unveiling Day on Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m. — 3 p.m. Students, teachers, and families should contact Outreach and Office Manager, Joelle Albury, at 236-2739 or email jalbury@mcht.org for more information and for the contest guidelines.
