Alex Uhll joins New Hope for Women’s board of directors
New Hope for Women (NHFW) in Rockland is pleased to announce the addition of Alex Uhll to its board of directors. Uhll is a Realtor with Jaret & Cohn Real Estate in Camden.
In making her decision to join the board of New Hope for Women, Uhll cited her respect and admiration for the work being done by NHFW’s staff and volunteers.
“A number of years ago, I became interested in the mission of New Hope for Women,” Uhll said. “When the opportunity arose to join the board, I was eager to seize the chance to make a difference and give back to my community.”
Uhll and her husband, Tommy, live in Lincolnville and have two children. Their son, Jack, is a student at Camden Hills Regional High School and daughter, Hannah, is a nursing student at Husson University.
New Hope for Women offers support to people in Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox and Waldo counties affected by domestic violence, dating violence and stalking. It also provides important educational resources to assist our communities in creating a safer and healthier future.
In 2013, New Hope for Women served 1,138 clients, provided over 3,300 hours of direct service, 3,200 hours of volunteer hotline coverage, 4,100 hours of community and youth education, and nearly 2,000 hours of education to 76 clients of the certified batterer intervention program. Additionally, NHFW provided 11 safe home nights to eight individuals, and another 796 nights to six individuals in collaboration with the Shelter-Without-Walls program of the Knox County Homeless Coalition.
