Alna announces protocol for Oct. 6 town vote
Alna announced in a town email Tuesday afternoon, the 6 p.m. Oct. 6 special town meeting will be held in the fire station bay. “To attend this meeting, we are practicing social distancing with the wearing of masks, six feet apart, you may bring your own chair if necessary and we will have hand sanitizer available.”
Voters will consider increasing the town clerk and tax collector’s pay from $18 to $20 an hour, and the deputy clerk and tax collector’s pay from $16 to $17 an hour, with no new funds needed due to changes in the yearly caps; approving the proposed E-911 ordinance involving road names and addresses; and transferring into surplus the $15,180 left in the North Old Sheepscot Road account.
The Sept. 30 selectmen's meeting has been rescheduled for Oct. 6, immediately following the special town meeting, the email stated.
