Considering the office you are running for, what do you feel are the three most pressing issues (350 words or less):
The three most pressing issues for the Alna Select Board are as follows: 1. Maintaining High Standards of Municipal Etiquette
It is crucial that our local government operates with respect, professionalism, and integrity. Setting and maintaining high standards for municipal etiquette ensures that all voices are heard and treated fairly. This fosters a collaborative environment where decisions are made in the best interest of the community. 2. Transparency and Community Inclusion in Decision-Making. Open communication is key to building trust between the Select Board and the residents of Alna. Maintaining strong transparency in the decision-making process and actively involving the community ensures that all perspectives are considered. This approach strengthens community engagement and helps to create solutions that reflect the collective needs and desires of our town. 3. Advocacy for Alna and Fiscal Responsibility. Ongoing advocacy for the town and its residents is essential to ensure that Alna continues to grow and thrive. It is also vital that we carefully plan for the future by being prudent stewards of taxpayer money. We must balance responsible spending with long-term goals, ensuring that we allocate resources wisely to support the town’s infrastructure, services, and community programs.
Any other thoughts on why you are running or what you can bring to the office? 150 words or less:
I am running because I believe the knowledge and experience gained in the first term are invaluable for making meaningful progress. The first term is crucial for understanding systems, routines, and protocols, but the real work begins after that foundation is built. It’s time to focus on projects and initiatives that will benefit the community. Serving on a board with diverse interests allows us to pursue different avenues to support the town and improve the future for all residents. I bring a neutral, open-minded approach to the Select Board, prioritizing thoughtful decision-making and considering all perspectives. My educational background helps me foster respectful dialogue, establish clear guidelines for public meetings, and promote compassion in addressing the needs of the community. I believe in creating a respectful, inclusive environment where every voice is heard.
