Anita Hodgdon of Barters Island, Boothbay died Jan. 18, 2018 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was 60 years old.

Anita was a lifelong resident of the Boothbay area and had many dear friends. She enjoyed working at First Federal Savings and Loan and participated in social and community activities sponsored by the bank.

Anita married James “Jimmy” Hodgdon on July 7, 1987. They raised many furry family members and enjoyed fishing and beach combing together.

Anita is survived by her husband, Jimmy; her parents, Fred and Estella Pinkham; her brother, Michael Pinkham and his wife Cathy and their children Nick, Brandon and Katie; her grandniece, Makayla; and many more beloved relatives and friends, including her beloved dog, Bailey.

A private interment will be held in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends to donate to the American Cancer Society.
