Annual ARTinME show opens this weekend
The opening of the Boothbay Region Art Foundation's (BRAF) fifth annual ARTinME show is Saturday, Oct. 18 with a gala reception from 5 to 7 p.m.
This juried show was judged by Kerstin Engman, Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Maine, Orono. For 25 years, Engman’s artistic focus was as a sculptor, but for the past decade, she has painted the Maine landscape and worked from “the simplest forms of still life.”
Prizes, amounting to $1,500 will be awarded and honors including First in Show and the People's Choice will be announced during the reception.
This show is exclusive to Maine artists. June Campbell Rose, director of BRAF, said 150 Maine artists from Kennebunk to Bangor submitted work. Of these, 100 were selected for the 2014 exhibition.
The Boothbay Region Art Foundation is located at 1 Townsend Avenue in downtown Boothbay Harbor.
