April matching challenge: Local businesses support victims of domestic abuse
Millions of workdays are lost due to domestic abuse. Employees miss work because they are injured, denied access to transportation, or being threatened with violence toward their children or pets. And now, with the ongoing uncertainty at the national level and many federal funding sources at risk, community members may want to take action.
This year’s matching challenge brings local businesses to the forefront. Area workplaces have pledged to double every donation made in April!Businesses like Allen Insurance and Financial, Eastern Tire, and Cold Mountain Builders know that it takes a community to address the pervasive effects of domestic violence, and that employers and employees alike benefit when we work together. “New Hope Midcoast’s commitment to creating safer communities aligns with our values. We are proud to offer this support to an organization whose work offers hope, support and protection to individuals facing domestic abuse, dating violence and stalking,” said Dan Bookham, Senior Vice President for Business Development and Commercial Lines at Allen Insurance and Financial.
Together we can address social concerns that continue right here in our communities. Your April donations can be made online at newhopemidcoat.org, by checkto: New Hope Midcoast, P.O.
