‘The Art of Albert Pucci: A Retrospective’: A summer exhibit and sale
Albert and Gora Pucci were friends of the Zorach family. It was with a 1970 invitation from the Zorach family that Albert Pucci and his wife, Gora, found Georgetown. Georgetown Historical Society (GHS) is pleased to have the opportunity to exhibit works that span much of his career.
Pucci attended Pratt Institute of Art (where he later taught for 24 years) and excelled as a freelance commercial artist for 40 years. His personal work used an interesting array of mediums, doing city scenes and seascapes, portraits and still life. A number of works in the exhibit, which will include many locally inspired watercolors, will be available for purchase. The exhibit will run through October 4.
On Friday, Aug. 1 at 7 p.m. Gora Pucci will be our guest speaker at a gallery talk. Pucci will share recollections and insights about her husband's long and successful career as both a painter and illustrator.
View the exhibit on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon at the Georgetown Historical Society, 20 Bay Point Road, Georgetown.
