ART Gallery at Chocolate Church announces new show
Maine’s woods are mysterious places filled with majestic trees, ferns, lichens, granite outcroppings and an amazing array of wildlife.
This rich and vibrant ecosystem is the focus of the new exhibit at the Chocolate Church Performing Arts Center's ART Gallery. The show opens Friday, Sept. 20, with an artists' reception from 5 to 7 p.m. “The Maine Woods” exhibit will run through November 2.
Artists honoring the spirit of this mystical part of Maine are Britta Bruce, Lois Strickland, Lee Cheever, Linda Cullivan, Michael Branca and Karen Dominguez. Mediums used for expression includes paintings, encaustics, photographs and wooden sculpture.
The Chocolate Church is at 804 Washington Street in Bath. The gallery is located in the annex. Gallery hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday noon to 4 p.m.
