For art lovers, a show not to be missed
Over 35 spectacular oil paintings by artist Greg Laderer, including several pieces from private collections that have rarely before been seen in public, will be on display at Studio 53 in Boothbay Harbor from August 29 through September 22.
The artist’s reception will take place at the gallery on Saturday evening, August 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. where art lovers, collectors, and even the “just curious” can meet with Laderer and learn the hidden stories behind each piece of his work. For those unable to attend, the artist will also be available to meet during the First Friday Open House at the gallery on Friday evening, September 6 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Laderer, who resides in Boothbay Harbor but whose work has touched the lives of art lovers world-wide, considers himself a “Romantic Aestheticist,” seeking simple beauty and capturing his fascinating impressions of it in his paintings. This show will feature a broad spectrum of his favorite subjects, from crashing surf and battling seagulls to sparkling still life compositions, engaging portraits, glowing cloud studies and the beauty of Ocean Point. For anyone whose interest is whetted by beautiful things, this display of paintings is not to be missed.
Laderer is the current guest artist at Studio 53, located at 53 Townsend Avenue, where the work of a collective of nine other artists can be seen daily. For more information, visit www.studio53fineart.com/.
