World renowned artist Maggie McClellan will be leading a plein air art seminar/workshop August 5-9, hosted by former student and East Boothbay resident, Carole LaFontaine.

The class will feature work with oil, acrylics and watercolor for a maximum of 15 artists/students. The fee for the entire week is $350.

"If the weather permits we will go to outdoor locations: Ocean Point and Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens," LaFontaine said. "Otherwise the workshops will be at my home."

McClellan has been an artist for over 30 years and has studied in Italy and in China for 11 years with Chinese masters. She has been the recipient of the FWS Homer Winslow Award for Artistic Excellence, the Pearl Art Award and has been Best In Show numerous times.

Her book, "The Artists Express - Secrets of the Obedient Brush," has been published in American Artist and Artists Magazine.
