The Boothbay Region Art Foundation welcomes everyone to join a celebration of artistic youth, the creation of art and the holiday season. The gala is a part of the Harbor Lights Festival and will happen Saturday, Dec. 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Boothbay Region Art Foundation (BRAF) Gallery located at 1 Townsend Avenue in Boothbay Harbor.

The annual “Art in the Square” show is a benefit fine art exhibition and sale that runs every weekend (Friday through Sunday) through Sunday, Jan. 5. Every painting sold puts money right into the BRAF Scholarship Fund and other art events for youth.

A wide range of styles and mediums: watercolors, oils, pastels, acrylics, ink, textile and photography are on display. The art is fresh and new works arrive throughout the entire event.

This exhibition has become very popular with art collectors and people looking to give art as gifts during the holidays. It also offers everyone who visits the show a nice weekend experience. Hours are Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

Every original 12 by 12-inch (one square foot) of artwork is on canvas and priced at $100. Many are created by highly-regarded Maine artists as well as talented emerging artists who take pride in participating in this important fund-raiser.
