Author talk with Leah Chyten May 14
”Soul of the Mountain” is Leah Chyten's third novel. The Southport Memorial Library welcome Leah Chyten for an author talk at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14.
Leah Chyten’s writing emerges from the archetypal themes and philosophical queries that deepen life experience. Her first novel, “Keeper of the Flame: The Story of Mary Magdalene,” depicts the story of the feminine rising from degradation to dignity. Similarly, “Light Radiance Splendor” calls forth the power of the feminine to redeem the world. Leah’s writing is informed by her various roles in life, including that of psychotherapist, spiritual teacher, and mother. She lives by the ocean in Portland, ME.
Of this new novel, “Soul of the Mountain” she writes, “It began as a vision: a young boy on horseback galloping freely across the prairie, long, black hair unbound. Looking directly at me, he winks, a sign that his story will follow. What unfolds is a profound journey, a story shared now with you. Meet a variety of fascinating characters including Luce, a spunky Manhattan lawyer, Roy Rogers, the elusive Harley riding Native American cowboy, White Owl Hooter, and the Sojan peoples from Middle Earth as they search for an encoded gold nugget, the soul of a sacred mountain in South Dakota. Embedded within the story is the egregious history of Native Americans after their land was stolen, their way of life nearly destroyed. People whose wisdom is now sought because we must radically shift our relationship to our only home, planet earth.”
Leah Chyten’s books are available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon and IndieBound. Copies of her books will be available for purchase ... and don’t forget to get yours autographed!
