‘Autumn’ is the new exhibition at River Arts
River Arts is inviting the public to the opening reception for its newest exhibition, “Autumn” on Friday, Oct. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibition features 95 works in a variety of media by 60 artists from Portland to Belfast. The “Autumn” exhibition will run through November 7.
Visitors will also be able to view the new exhibition in the West Gallery featuring Stockton Springs artist, William Landmesser, and purchase a last minute raffle ticket for the evening’s drawing of five lucky winners of the five paintings donated by artists for the River Arts fundraiser.
The juror for the “Autumn” exhibition is R. Keith Rendall, a professional printmaker and artist with over 30 years of experience. He is considered an expert on the history of etching and woodcut printmaking in the Renaissance. Rendall is a graduate of Kenyon College and has been the recipient of several prestigious awards. He has shown his work internationally and is revered as a true master of his art.
He has shared his talent through teaching at the University of Maine, Farmington, Lincoln Academy as well as private and public schools throughout the state. www.rkeithrendall.com. The R. Keith Rendall Fine Art Gallery, is the newest addition to Wiscasset’s art scene at the site of the former Blooms store on Main Street.
Artists in the Boothbay region with works in the exhibit are: Mark Reilly, John Butke, John Lorence, Sally Smith, Barbie Fischer Eldred, and Pat McHold. Artists in Wiscasset are Leonard Meiselman and Shelia DeBettencourt.
River Arts is located at 241 U.S. Route 1(north) in Damariscotta. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
