Back To School Mission Outreach is being planned for Sunday, July 14. Members and friends of our community of churches are invited to bring donations of back to school supplies and money gifts to their respective churches to be received during worship services. A school supply shopping list is available now at all local churches.

Last year, this ecumenical Sunday mission collection event was a huge stepping-off point for Boothbay Region Community Resources' efforts to gift every regional elementary student with a new backpack and teacher-required school supplies to help them be Set For Success for the upcoming school year.

Three hundred and sixty-five students from Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb and Southport received well stocked backpacks. This year BRCR’s goal is to reach over 425 elementary students.

For folks not associated with a local church who would like to be a part of the mission outreach, volunteers will be at the YMCA on Sunday, July 14 from noon to 1 p.m. to receive all donations from churches and the community. There is a donation bin and wish list at The First bank in Boothbay Harbor where school supplies can be left during banking hours.

New standard-size backpacks are the number one need on the list.

The Big Set For Success Event for elementary students and families is scheduled for Sunday, August 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Boothbay Region YMCA, Field House and is being sponsored by Boothbay Region Community Resources and The Boothbay Region YMCA.
