The members of the Fundraising Committee of the Friends of the Wiscasset Public Library have been meeting since January planning their annual fundraising event, Bands for Books. This will be held on Labor Day, Sept. 2 at Lakehurst Lodge in Damariscotta. We are pleased to announce that the Salty Dogs will, once again, be performing. They will have everyone up and dancing from the very beginning.

For the first time last year we were able to offer freshly shucked oysters! This was an instant hit! A generous benefactor has agreed to fund this special treat for all attendees. We are most grateful. Members of the Friends will be providing an assortment of treats, savory and sweet, so come prepared!

Ticket prices will remain at $20 each if purchased prior to Labor Day. Purchased at the door, tickets will be $25 each. Tickets are available at Wiscasset Public Library, 21 High St., Wiscasset, during regular business hours.
