Barbara Brown, a Phi Theta Kappa honors student, graduated from Southern Maine Community College on Saturday, May 18. Brown is the daughter of Mary Lee Brown of Boothbay Harbor and Karl Brown of Bristol. She is the proud mother of Tabetha.

Brown earned an associate’s degree in dietetic technology to complement her culinary degree. In addition to being a member of the Board of Directors of the Maine Academy of Dietetics, Brown was the founder and past president of the Dietetic Technology Club on campus. She was very active in campus life and enjoyed volunteering on the Polar Express this past winter.

Brown is planning a food service director’s career in a retirement community somewhere in Maine, where she can deliver healthy, tasty meals for residents and guests. She is currently employed as food service director for Kamp Kohut in Oxford.
