The becoming of Maine statehood at Lincoln Home
The Lincoln Home will commemorate the bicentennial of Maine statehood on March 15, 2020. How did Maine come to be part of Massachusetts in the 1600s? What were the benefits and problems inherent in that relationship?
On Monday, Nov. 4, from 3 to 4 p.m., Carolyn Hardman will share the story of why Maine’s independence was so long delayed and how was it finally achieved.
The Lincoln Home is located at 22 River Road, Newcastle. For more information, contact Rhonda Hanna, 563-3350, or rhonda@lincoln-home.org
