‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’ opens Dec. 7
The Theater Project in Brunswick is excited to kick off the holiday season with “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” adapted from the book by Barbara Robinson Audiences will delight in welcoming back this beloved classic, directed by Karin Baard, to The Theater Project stage.
The story follows the antics of the six misfit Herdman kids who go to church for the first time after being told that the church offers snacks and are then, to the protests of many, given roles in the Sunday school Christmas play. The rehearsal process and town gossip that ensues is nothing short of rollicking, side-splitting comedy, with a little redemption and the true meaning of Christmas thrown in.
Baard says, “Directing ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’ brings back wonderful memories! I first acted in this same show 14 years ago; it was my first play at The Theater Project. I love this show, not only because of the personal connection but also because it is hilarious! We’ve got everyone in this play: professional actors, TTP alumni, and current young TTP actors of all ages! It’s a lot of people on a small stage, but it never feels like too many.”
Reserve your tickets soon! Everyone will be clamoring to see how The Herdmans ruin (or save) the Christmas Pageant!
