Beverly J. Gray
Beverly Jean (Baldwin) Gray of Woolwich died peacefully surrounded by family members in her home on January 11, 2014.
Beverly was born May 30, 1938 in Alna, to Fred J. Baldwin and Virginia B. Hanson. She attended the Woolwich One Room School House and Morse High School. Beloved wife of the late Edward H. Gray, they married December 31, 1954. They were the loving parents of three daughters; Cindy, Vicki and Sharon-Holly.
While raising her daughters, Beverly attended Bernard’s School of Cosmetology and graduated in 1983. She then opened her own beauty salon in her home, “Snip and Clip,” that she ran for 31 years.
Beverly lead a very full life. In her 57 years of marriage with her loving husband, they lived a very happy life together and put many miles on their car with all their fun trips. She was a long-time member of many bowling leagues and Pat’s Mermaid Club. She attended Pathway Vineyard Church, with her brother and sister-in-law. Beverly also socialized and participated in numerous events at the Bath Senior Center. She cherished spending time with dear friends and family, especially all of her grandchildren.
Beverly was predeceased by her husband Edward, several brothers and a sister-in-law.
Beverly is survived by her brother, James Baldwin and wife Diane of Wiscasset; three daughters, Cindy O’Conner of Bath, Vicki Harrington and her husband Frank of Fitchburg, Mass., and Sharon-Holly Thibodeau and her husband Allen of Woolwich; 14 grandchildren, Christa Gallagher of Brunswick, Missy Leeman and fiancé Cong VanNguyen of South Casco, Amy Amendola and husband Gustin of Grand Island, N.Y., Ashley Freeman and husband Bryce of Wilton, Iowa, Amber Duarte and husband Aneury, Anna, Josh, Nick, Frank, Abigail and Michael, all of Fitchburg, Mass., and Megan and Kate Thibodeau of Woolwich; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her in-laws, Roland Emeron of Redding, Mass., Anne Carter of Gorham, N.H., Ruth and Harry Lewis of Phippsburg, Jane and Gibb Gower of Dresden, David and Deb Gray of Phippsburg and Gloria Gray of Woolwich.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High Street, Bath. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
