“The Genesis Chair” follows Deke Sandborn, the executive officer on a cargo ship bound for deep space. What begins as a routine mission quickly spirals into chaos when the ship loses propulsion, forcing a landing on an alien planet. There Deke encounters an alien mystic who tasks him with an extraordinary mission: to invent a time travel machine, journey back in time, and persuade a stranger to write a book that will change the course of civilization.
Reflecting on this achievement, Simonds said, "I’m thrilled that “The Genesis Chair” has been recognized by the Hollywood Book Festival. Writing this book was a journey into the unknown, much like the adventure Deke faces in the story. I hope readers find themselves as captivated by the story as I was while writing it."
Simonds, a resident of Boothbay, is a retired minister, business consultant, and counselor. He has authored several books across various genres, including men's topics, self-help, diet, and science fiction. “The Genesis Chair” is part of a trilogy, The Chair Trilogy, and is available for purchase on Amazon.
