Boothbay Region Health Center welcomes new staff
The Boothbay Region Health Center, a community-supported, patient-run primary health care facility located at 185 Townsend Avevnue in the Meadow Mall, welcomes our new family nurse practitioner, Whitney Tranchemontagne, to the practice.
Whitney received her master of science in nursing from the University of Southern Maine and is certified as an ANCC Family Nurse Practitioner. She has done rotations at Great Works Family Practice in York, Maine, at Wolfeboro Pediatrics in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, at Asthma & Allergy Associates of Maine in Portland, and at Maine Medical Partners Orthopedics in Falmouth. She has also practiced at Family Healthcare Associates in Auburn, Maine, and at Raymond Redicare in Raymond, Maine. We are happy to have her join our team of experienced healthcare professionals.
Whitney joins our team of now five primary care providers, including Dr. Allan "Chip" Teel, family nurse practitioner Susan Lord, psychiatric family nurse practitioner Jennie McNeil, and physician's assistant Andrew Zuber.
The Health Center also welcomes Elizabeth Ham as a health coordinator/medical assistant for the summer months to join the continuous care team of Kandace Zuber, nurse care manager; Rebecca Alley, senior health coordinator and safety officer; and Jessica Benson, health coordinator. Elizabeth is a nationally registered emergency medical technician (EMT) and is going into her third year at Thomas College, majoring in psychology and minoring in criminal justice.
As you can see, we are fully staffed and ready and able to serve you six days a week. Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We treat the full range of your primary health care needs, from acute care (wounds, tick bites, UTIs, flu, sore throats, headaches, upset stomachs, back pain, STDs, substance mis-use, etc.) to preventive care (check-ups, blood pressure, blood sugar, lab tests, pap smears, herpes tests), to chronic care management for allergies, Alzheimer's, dementia, diabetes, heart conditions, hypertension, obesity, tick-borne diseases. We take most forms of health insurance, including MaineCare and Medicare, and TriCare. And for uninsured patients, we offer a 30% discount if patients pay on the day of service.
