Botanical Gardens' raffle prize: 'Tulipa'
Renowned botanical illustrator Linda Heppes Funk has donated her original dry-brush watercolor painting “Tulipa” as a raffle prize to support Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens’ Experts-In-Residence Program.
This exquisite framed rendering of a yellow-tinged pink tulip in spring, valued at $5,800, would be a stunning addition to any art collection, and to anyhome. Funk participated in the Experts-In-Residence program last year.
“Tulipa” is on view in the Visitor Center at the Gardens. Raffle tickets are for sale at the admissions and membership desks and will be available throughout the fabulous springtime tulip display. Raffle tickets for “Tulipa” are $10 each or 10 for $90.
The 11,000-plus tulips in the Central Gardens will be near their peak during Maine Days (free admission for Maine residents May 25-27) and the May 25 and 26 Plant Sale. The winning ticket will be drawn at the end of the Memorial Day weekend, on Monday, May 27, at 3 p.m. in the Visitor Center.
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is located off Barters Island Road in Boothbay. To learn more, call 207-633-4333, ext. 101, or visit www.mainegardens.org/.
