Bremen Library: Alice Kirpatrick May artist of the month
Please come to Bremen Library on Thursday, May 4 between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. to enjoy art and refreshments! Alice Kirkpatrick will open her show for the month of May in the library gallery, showcasing a variety of paintings in her signature light-infused style.
Ms. Kirkpatrick's artwork is rooted in Maine where she was born and raised and has lived as an adult since her late 20s. After working in a public sector career in higher education policy for 20 years, she stepped out in 2006 to focus solely on her art.
Ms. Kirkpatrick's artwork is rooted in Maine where she was born and raised and has lived as an adult since her late 20s. After working in a public sector career in higher education policy for 20 years, she stepped out in 2006 to focus solely on her art.
She is drawn to paint quiet places, often interiors, that reveal the human spirit, and evoke memories and human connections. Whatever the subject, it is the magical quality of light, and its power to move us, that inspires Alice most.
She received her BFA in Art from Colby College and has pursued workshops and courses at Maine College of Art and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, among others.
Alice Kirkpatrick maintains a studio at her home in Pownal but loves to hunker down at her cabin on the Damariscotta River to just watch the light at play!
