Brenton Gaudette, age 73, of Gray Maine, died on Dec. 12, 2019 at Maine Medical Center.

He was born in Damariscotta and grew up on Southport Island. He attended Southport Central School and Boothbay Region High School.

He received training in auto mechanics at CMVTI. He worked as a mechanic in Boothbay Harbor and later worked on sonobouys as a civilian for the Navy for five years in South Bristol, St. Croix, and in the Philippines. He went on to work for New England Telephone for 34 years.

He had many interests in life including playing basketball in school, whitewater rafting, hiking, camping, skiing, racquetball, and traveling. He was an instructor for the Maine Handicapped Skiing program at Sunday River. He also enjoyed the Maine State Music Theater. He loved his home on Crystal Lake in Gray.

He is survived by his mother, Ramona Gaudette; brother, Stephen Gaudette; niece, Madison Gaudette; daughter, Heather Cope; sons, Jason and Christopher Gaudette; and grandchildren, Bryson and Averie.
