Brunswick man has gunshot wound; Wiscasset man under arrest on other charges following call to Wiscasset home
Wiscasset Police Department posted the following on its Facebook page Wednesday afternoon, July 10:
On (July 10) at (about) 2:13 a.m., the Wiscasset Police responded to a residence for a suspicious activity and a male subject yelling for help. Officer Logan Hilton arrived on scene and located a male subject in the yard with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was identified as 60-year-old Darren Mitchell of Brunswick.
The victim was taken to Miles Memorial Hospital by Wiscasset EMS and then transported to Maine Medical Center (in Portland); the injury is not considered to be life threatening. Officer Hilton was assisted on scene by deputies from Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
The resident, Timothy P. Frasier, 33, of Wiscasset was immediately detained by Officer Hilton and later arrested on an unrelated warrant out of Cumberland County.
The investigation revealed multiple people fled the scene prior to police arrival including two people of interest in the shooting.
A search warrant was executed at the residence which led to additional charges for Frasier – two counts of violating conditions of release, two counts of Unlawful Possession of Drugs and Unlawful Trafficking; he is currently be held at Cumberland County Jail on a probation hold.
The investigation is ongoing, additional suspects are being sought and additional charges are pending.
