Call to artists for ‘New Works’ show
River Arts in Damariscotta invites artists to submit work for the upcoming juried show, “New Works.” This exhibition will showcase artists’ recent fresh and contemporary works. Pieces that have been created in the last 12 months may be entered. This show is open to members and nonmembers.
River Arts is pleased to announce that Mark Kelly will juror the show. Born in Amityville, New York, Mark Kelly is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. A multi-disciplinary artist, he was a founding member of Rockland's Art Space Gallery and Belfast's Aarhüs Gallery. Kelly, also an art educator, has taught drawing and alternative art-making classes at The Farnsworth Museum, Waterfall Arts Center, and through the Rockland Continuing Education program.
“New Works” is open to all media, including original work in painting, sculpture, fiber, photography, ceramics, original print making, drawing, encaustic, pastel, glass, and mixed media. Submissions may be delivered to the gallery from now until the deadline Saturday, June 17 at 4 p.m. For more information regarding submissions, visit the River Arts website at riverartsme.org.
“New Works” will run from Tuesday, June 20 to Saturday, July 29. There will be an opening reception Saturday, June 24 from 2 to 4 pm.
The gallery is located at 36 Elm St. in Damariscotta and is open Tuesday – Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
