Callan Rogers to discuss her writing at Wiscasset library March 15
Local author Morgan Callan Rogers will be at the Wiscasset Public Library Wednesday, March 15 at 4:45 p.m. to discuss her debut novel, “Red Ruby Heart in a Cold Blue Sea,” the story of a spirited young girl growing up in a Maine coastal village. It was the chosen March reading for the library’s book group, who invited the author to attend. The public is also welcome.
The novel was published to critical acclaim in 2012 in the U.S., Germany, Spain, Italy and Australia. In 2015, Callan Rogers published a sequel, “Written on My Heart,” that continues the story of Florine Gilham into marriage and adulthood.
Callan Rogers, who grew up in Bath, is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine and of its Stonecoast master of fine arts in creative writing program. In addition to writing fiction, she has had many jobs including librarian, secretary, editor, actress and singer. She now works as a reporter for the Boothbay Register.
