Cannabis ordinance changes move to selectmen
With no public comment received in Monday night’s hearing and a lone typo found, Wiscasset’s planning board sent proposed changes to two cannabis ordinances onto selectmen.
In the four-minute meeting at the town office and over Zoom, the planning board pointed out a “medial” instead of “medical” in the medical cannabis business licensing ordinance.
A November town vote has been eyed since it was discovered that ordinance listed the safe zones for churches, schools, child cares, municipal ballfields and town hall, but was missing other planned restrictions on where a business could go.
Another proposed change would, in the adult use cannabis business ordinance, allow stores in the Rural District on Gardiner Road from the Foye Road-Gardiner Road intersection to the Dresden line.
Voters passed the ordinances in June.
