Casey J. Main
The Main family announces with great sadness the loss of Casey James Main, age 36, of Wiscasset. He died on April 25, 2019.
Casey was born on July 26, 1982 in Damariscotta to James and Judith (Cederlund) Main (and his big brother Chris).
He graduated from Wiscasset High School in the year 2000.
He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 10. Even though managing this was difficult, it didn't stop him from doing the things he loved and making lifelong friends along the way.
Growing up he loved playing sports, skateboarding, snowboarding, mountain biking, fishing, camping and was in the Boy Scouts with Troop 201.
Casey liked going to music concerts, playing video games and cheering on all the New England sports teams.
He was a trailblazer, with hatchet in hand he helped make trails through Sortwell Forest and other trails closer to home for his mountain and fat tire bikes to travel that will continue to be enjoyed.
Casey enjoyed life and had a great sense of humor. His most recent passion was disc golf. He played with friends and enjoyed beating his brother Chris on local courses. He'd registered with the PDGA and planned to start playing tournaments this year.
Casey was employed at Le Garage in Wiscasset during his teens, at Ebb Tide in Boothbay Harbor for 12 years. For the last five years he was employed as a machine operator at Molnlycke Health Care in Wiscasset. He also worked building the cage for MMA fights, working every event for New England fights since 2012.
Casey was a kind and loving son and brother who would help anyone who needed him. He grew up to be a gentleman who loved his family, friends and pets dearly.
He is survived by his parents, his brother Chris and wife Andrea, their children Kaitlyn and Cameron Main, and his grandfather Howard Cederlund, all of Wiscasset.
He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to JDRF to support type 1 diabetes research and ultimately find a cure, https://www.jdrf.org
A graveside service and celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
