CLC Ambulance asks Wiscasset to table merger discussion
A letter from Central Lincoln County Ambulance Service to Wiscasset Town Manager Marian Anderson, dated Oct. 12, asks that the consolidation of CLC and Wiscasset Ambulance Service be tabled while CLC searches for a new service chief. Warren Waltz, former head of CLC, resigned effective Oct. 31, according to the CLC board of directors.
County commissioners on Tuesday approved Waltz’s application to work part-time for the sheriff’s department. He will serve as a courthouse screener.
Mark Doe is interim service chief at CLC.
Wiscasset is scheduled to vote on the merger Nov. 6. Tonight, a public hearing on the proposal is scheduled at 6 p.m. at the town office, as part of the regular selectmen's meeting.
According to the letter from the CLC board, it was anticipated discussions could resume in the first quarter of 2019.
