Coastal Planning Workshop Nov. 29
Local officials and residents interested in coastal issues are invited to participate in Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission's Coastal Planning Workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. at the LCRPC office in Wiscasset.
Bob Faunce, Lincoln County Planner, will highlight projects funded by NOAA and the Maine Coastal Program over the past few years. Each year the Planning Commission receives funds for technical assistance, coastal planning studies, and for grant-writing assistance to towns for project funding to address coastal issues. This includes, for example, the County-wide sea level rise impact study and assistance with funding and administration of wastewater treatment plant flood protection studies, flood impact studies for downtown Damariscotta and Boothbay Harbor, and numerous other planning efforts.
The LCRPC welcomes input prior to preparing the 2019 work plan (which goes into effect July 1, 2018). NOAA and the Maine Coastal program will be represented at the workshop: participants will hear about their goals and programs and these agencies will be looking for input into how their efforts can enhance LCRPC coastal planning.
This is an excellent opportunity for local officials and residents to discuss coastal issues in your community and offer feedback and input into coastal issues and projects to pursue in the future.
