Coastal Senior College announces spring courses for Knox and Lincoln counties
Coastal Senior College (CSC) is pleased to announce its series of spring 2025 courses in Knox and Lincoln counties. CSCoffers lifelong learners the opportunity to expand their knowledge or to explore a wide range of topics from current global conflicts to the best of world literature.
CSC will offer four- to eight-week courses, beginning the week of April 8. Seven courses will be in person at various locations throughout Lincoln and Knox counties, six will be taught on Zoom, and two courses will be hybrid (both in-person and on Zoom).
Spring courses include— Tuesdays: “Conflict in Ukraine: Background, Developments, and What It Means for the World” (Damariscotta); “Dickens’s Magic Tricks” (Newcastle and Zoom); “Write as if Your Mother Isn’t Watching” (Zoom);and “What’s Going on in There? Experiential Anatomy for Elders” (Waldoboro). Wednesdays:Extraordinary Exploits of Ordinary Individuals Who Got Into the Fight Against Nazi Germany” (Zoom); “The Man/Nature Connection in Three Modern Novels” (Zoom); and “Come Sing a Song With Me” (Waldoboro).
The Thursday courses include: “Memoir Writing — Crafting Your Story From a Kaleidoscope of Memories” (Zoom); “Cosmology — the Story of Everything” (Zoom), “Siena and the Rise of Painting at the Dawn of the Renaissance” (Rockland and Zoom), and “More Algebra for the Fun of It” (Damariscotta). Fridays:“The Plays of Noël Coward: “Everybody Worships Me; It’s Nauseating” (Zoom); “Sinners and a Few Saints: the Women in The Canterbury Tales “ (Bremen).
