Coleman-McCartan art show opening December 7
The Art at The Damariscotta River Grill series incorporates Ed McCartan’s large, bold botanical paintings with Nancy Coleman’s printmaking images of nature and everyday life. Opening on Monday, Dec. 7, this exhibition will be on view through Jan. 26. All artwork is for sale and a great idea for holiday gift giving.
An opening reception will be held Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. featuring appetizers by Chef Rick Hirsch.
Ed McCartan paints in his Park Street Studio in Bath. His work is a general exploration of botanical and gestural imagery. Natural forms, twigs, ferns, flowers and more leave room for experimentation with sumi-like strokes and lines.
McCartan's paintings have been exhibited nationally and are in many private and corporate collections.
Nancy Coleman has been a printmaker for over 40 years. She enjoys drawing as a means of expression, and loves the technical challenges that arise from the process of developing an image on an etching plate. Color is added by hand, using watercolor paints.
She makes her home in Damariscotta Mills.
Damariscotta River Grill is located at 155 Main Street, Damariscotta. For more information about the show, contact Kim Traina at jumpstartcreative@gmail.com or 207-882-9870.
