‘The Comedy of Errors’ staged in the Camden Amphitheatre
“The Comedy of Errors” is Shakespeare’s hilarious farce about two sets of twins who end up in the same town, each unaware of the other. This show will have a lot of music, singing, clowning, and funny business.
“It is probably Shakespeare’s most fun show to perform, and least Shakespearean,” says director Stephen Legawiec. This play has it all: madcap comedy, mistaken identity, seduction, slapstick, bad puns, and a family reunion beyond belief. No play contains more comedy, or more errors…”
“The Comedy of Errors” will be presented outdoors in the Camden Amphitheater. The performances are produced in conjunction with the Camden Public Library. Performance dates are July 10 - 12, 16 - 19, 23 - 26, 31 and Aug. 1 - 4. All performances begin at 6 p.m.
There will also be two outdoor performances in Bath at Library Park on July 20 and 21, weather permitting. The cast features local actors Megan Gerbi, Savannah Irish and R. Taylor Kruse. Guest artists are Téa Doherty, Steven Horn, Marcus, McGhee, Gina Prince, Anna Raymond, and Maggie Seymour. The stage manager is Rey Hankinson.
Tickets are available at CamdenShakespeare.org, by calling 207-464-0008, or at the theatre one hour prior to each performance, depending on availability.
