The United States Navy’s premier country-bluegrass ensemble Country Current is nationally renowned for its versatility and superb musicianship. The group performs a blend of modern country music and cutting-edge bluegrass. On Thursday, Aug. 29, these professional musicians of the Navy will arrive in Boothbay Harbor to perform at the historic Opera House.

The seven member Country Current ensemble features banjo, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin, fiddle, electric bass, upright bass, dobro, pedal steel guitar and drum set. Auditions for the Navy Band are highly competitive and the musicians are some of the best in the country.

The concert is a free community presentation, with doors for seating opening at 6:30 p.m. and the music beginning at 7.  All ages are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be available for sale.
