County seeks EMT trainees
Emergency medical service agencies in Lincoln County have experienced staffing shortages due to the effects of COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to expand the number of licensed EMTs in Lincoln County, Emergency Management Agency Director Casey Stevens requested county commissioners use a portion of American Rescue Plan Act funds to pay the tuition for a future EMT course in Boothbay.
Commissioners unanimously approved the request. Participants must be a Lincoln County resident to qualify for the free tuition. Interested participants should register at United Ambulance’s website www.unitedambuance.com. Registration deadline is Jan. 14 and space is limited.
