The Center for Teaching and Learning, a Pre-K–8 independent school in Edgecomb, will hold an Open House on Sunday, April 6, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. All members of the Midcoast community are cordially invited to tour the school, meet the faculty, and ask questions about the program. We welcome families with children of all ages to attend and learn about the school. Currently, CTL has openings in grade one for 2025-26. 

CTL serves up to 80 children in five groupings: Pre-K–K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8. CTL draws students from nearly twenty towns to create a loving, close-knit community of families who are committed to excellence in education.  

CTL was founded in 1990 by Global Teacher Prize winner Nancie Atwell. The school is a non-profit organization accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
