CTL pajama drive a huge success
Students at the Center for Teaching and Learning collected thirty-one pairs of pajamas for local children and adolescents during the month of January. Grace Olcott, a second grader from Alna, led the initiative. Her enthusiasm for charitable causes inspired dozens of CTL families to participate in the twelfth annual Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive, a philanthropic program offered through Scholastic Book Clubs that aims to teach kids the value of giving and the power of reading.
According to Scholastic's website, schools across America have collected and donated more than 850,000 pajamas through the Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive program since 2009. Scholastic Book Clubs matches each pajama donation with a book for young readers to enjoy at bedtime.
