CTL students selected as poetry contest finalists
Two students from the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) in Edgecomb were selected as finalists in the 2024 River of Words Poetry Contest, sponsored by the Center for Environmental Literacy at St. Mary’s College of California. Enilea Burns' poem "Holding Our Head up High" and Fina Record's poem "Glitch" were both selected for their insightful observations and their creativity.
The winning poems will be published on the River of Words website, on the River of Words social media platforms, and in the 2023-2024 River of Words Anthology. River of Words anthologies are made every year to honor past winners and finalists and to inspire future artists. This year's anthology will soon be available on the River of Words website.
Eni and Fina were encouraged in their nature writings and observations by teachers Angela Lathem-Ballard and Stacey Adams.
