The curtain goes up on ‘Bloomsday’ this weekend
Heartwood presents “Bloomsday” by Steven Dietz, in a fully staged reading Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12 at the Poe Theater. The show stars Cliff Blake, Mary Fraser, Vincent Hannam and Deirdre Manning.
In this bittersweet love story, Robert returns to Dublin, to reunite with Cait, the woman who captured his heart during a James Joyce literary tour, thirty-five years ago. Dancing backwards through time, the older couple retraces their steps, discovering their younger selves. Through the young Robbie and Caithleen, they re-live the unlikely, inevitable events that brought them – only briefly – together. Full details available at www.heartwoodtheater.org.
Performances: one evening show May 11 at 7:30 and two shows May 12 at 3 and 7 p.m. Reservations suggested. Tickets: $15/adults and $5/students. Purchase tickets/make reservations by calling 563-1373 or emailing info@heartwoodtheater.org.
