Damariscotta Police: Four warning for speeding
The Damariscotta Police report the following activity from Feb. 15 to Feb. 21, 2016 Note: The Feb. 9, 2016 entry “Dorothy Koughan of Wiscasset was warned for speeding” should have said Debra Koughan of Damariscotta was warned for speeding on Main Street by Officer Halpin.
Feb. 15
Officer Halpin conducted a compliance check in at the police department.
Officer Dotson warned Paula Westgate of Old Orchard Beach for failure to dim headlights on Main Street and warned Jordan Bean of Boothbay Harbor for a defect on Main Street.
Feb. 16
Officer Dotson assisted with a parking problem on Elm Street; several vehicles were in the way of snow removal, investigated a report of suspicious activity on Bristol Road, warned Bonnie Sablinsky of Bristol for operating without headlights after dark on Main Street, responded to alarms on Courtyard Street and Coastal Market Drive, and removed a traffic hazard on Main St.
Chief Young assisted with a parking issue on Church Street and assisted a citizen at the police department.
Officer Halpin assisted with a parking problem on Parking Lot Lane and assisted a citizen on Miles Street.
Feb. 17
Chief Young investigated a single vehicle accident on Biscay Road; Kerry Kohnert of Ringwood, New Hampshire was driving a 2008 Nissan and no injuries were reported, conducted a compliance check at the police deparment, assisted a citizen at the police department, investigated a report of criminal mischief on High Street, attempted to serve paperwork for another agency on Church Street, assisted a citizen on Main Street, and investigated a report of an abandoned motor vehicle on Biscay Road.
Officer Dotson is investigating a report of theft on Powell Lane, responded to an alarm on Church Street, is investigating a report of threatening on High Street. and responded to an alarm on Jackie’s Trail.
Feb. 18
Chief Young took a late report of a possible hit and run accident on Main Street, took a police information report on Jackie’s Trail, took a found property report on Main Street, assisted a citizen at the police department, took a report of an erratic vehicle on Main Street, took a report of phone harassment on High Street, and took a report of theft on Miles Street.
Officer Sylvester assisted another agency on Miles Street.
Feb. 19
Officer Dotson conducted a compliance check at the police department, took a police information report on Main Street, assisted with a civil complaint on Ledgewood Court, assisted a citizen on Miles Street, and conducted a pedestrian check on Theatre Street.
Officer Sylvester investigated a noise complaint on Headgate Road, warned Amanda Batty of Cushing for a stop sign violation on Main Street, warned Sara Silverstein of Bristol for a defect on Coastal Market Drive, and warned Ryan Coffin of Nobleboro for speeding on Main Street.
Feb. 20
Officer Halpin warned Brandon Simmons of Damariscotta for speeding on Back Meadow Road and investigated a report of suspicious activity on Main Street.
Officer Sylvester warned Stephen Gracie of Dresden for a defect on Bristol Road and warned Austin Waning of Nobleboro for operation on Biscay Road.
Feb. 21
Officer Halpin warned Michelle Gill of Tenants Harbor for speeding on Route 1 and warned Carly Boyce of Damariscotta for speeding on Elm Street.
Officer Dotson took a report of an erratic vehicle on Route 1.
