Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta call for Buskers auditions
The Damariscotta Pumpkinfest & Regatta 2023 returns on the Indigenous Peoples Day holiday weekend, Oct. 6-9, to deliver its signature frivolity. Woven into the festival are performances by Buskers, stage and street performers, who span the gamut of entertainment, from music to magic. Damariscotta Pumpkinfest announces The Call for Buskers, 2023.
The selected Buskers will perform on a small stage and street corners throughout Damariscotta’s Main Street, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, Oct. 7 through 9 Busker candidates will be given an opportunity to entertain the thousands of visitors, who come to enjoy the festivities, generated by the harvest of oversized pumpkins, which provide pleasure to those who appreciate art, competition, absurdity, and other gifts of the giant gourds, including the enormous decorated pumpkins along Main Street, the Pumpkin Parade, the Derby, the zany Regatta, and other events.
Busker auditions will be held online, by scheduled Zoom meetings. Winning Buskers will be chosen for originality and creativity, and inclusive of a range of ages and styles, and based on a scope of talent for interactive artists, pantomimes, jugglers, performing groups, musicians, and other engaging, unique public performers.
