Data breach workshop will help local organizations
A data breach planning workshop for non-technology managers has been scheduled for Sept. 14 in Wiscasset to help local businesses and non-profit organizations plan their responses to a breach.
The four-hour workshop will feature speakers who are experienced with data breaches and crisis communications. Based on the Data Breach: Day One© workbook, instructors will include S.A. James Corbett from the Boston Division of the FBI, David McConnell, director, Perkins Thompson, P.A., Diana Ichton Nelson, public relations expert, Robert Oakley, HIS manager, Bucksport Regional Health Center and Jane Carpenter, founder, Maine Identity Services.
Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. and the workshop is expected to conclude by noon. Costs to attend are $100 per seat for businesses and $75 for non-profit organizations. Seating is limited and tickets must be purchased by Sept. 6 on the Eventbrite website at: DATA BREACH: DAY ONE!
Attendees will learn how to make sure that their organization’s work can continue during and after a breach and save organizations thousands of dollars. Those attending will receive a workbook, flash drive and proprietary forms so they can share the information quickly and easily throughout their organizations to create their own plans.
The Data Breach: Day One© workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 14 will take place at the Lincoln County Regional Planning Commission, 297 Bath Road in Wiscasset.
