Democrats to host annual Family Fun Day Lobster Bake
The Lincoln County Democratic Committee (LCDC) will host its annual Family Fun Day Lobster Bake on Sunday, Aug. 4, from noon to 3 p.m. at Cider Hill Farm, 785 Main St., in Waldoboro.
“Each year – for over 40 years now – year-rounders and summer residents, Democrats and Dem-leaning voters alike, have come together to celebrate Democratic ideals with a summer’s afternoon of fun, fellowship, and great food,” said Geoff Bates, organizer of this year’s event.
“We’ll have folks from Westport Island to Waldoboro and Whitefield to South Bristol gather in-person, greet old friends and make new ones. Our guests can choose from a full lobster dinner, hot dog, or a vegan meal prepared over a fire and catered by Jeff Hurd’s crew from The Narrows Tavern on Friendship Road,” Bates said. “No wonder it’s an ongoing tradition.”
The Family Fun Day Lobster Bake is open to the public. This all-American event will feature live music, freshly shucked local oysters and grassroots politicking at its most personal. The afternoon begins with a social hour followed by dinner at 1 p.m. Short speeches by candidates, representatives in government and special guests follow. Three onsite raffles will provide opportunities for guests to support the LCDC.
Online reservations can be made, at https://lincolncountydemocrats.com/lobster by Wednesday, July 31. For those who would like to provide additional support for the event, host committee sponsorship opportunities are also available. For more information, contact Bates at 207-644-8776.
The LCDC uses the money it raises through this and other fundraising initiatives to support its local efforts in Lincoln County. Its grassroots mission is to organize volunteers and communicate with voters in support of candidates who believe in the Democratic ideals and principles of government by, of, and for all the people.
