Donald F. Lewis
Donald Frederick Lewis, 72, of Aurora, Colorado passed peacefully at Aurora Medical Center South on May 11, 2019 after a brief illness.
Donald was born in Boothbay Harbor, Maine on March 30, 1947 the son of Maxwell D. and Marguerite (Armstrong) Lewis. He was educated in local elementary and grammar schools and graduated from Deering High School in Portland in 1965. After graduation he entered the United States Air Force and proudly served for over 24 years attaining the rank of master sergeant. His many assignments took him to Texas, Okinawa, Maryland, Spain, New Hampshire, Iceland, Colorado and California. While serving in Maryland, he met and married Melanie Kay Clayton formerly of Colorado and they had a loving daughter Samantha. After retirement he worked for Army/Air Force Exchange Service and the Veterans Administration.
In his retirement he enjoyed reading as well as watching sports and educational programs on television.
Preceding him in death were his parents and stepfather Bradford Adams, grandparents Edmund and Vida Lewis and Arno and Amy Armstrong and numerous aunts and uncles.
He is survived by daughter, Samantha (Eloy) Lopez and loving grandsons Liam and Blayk of Colorado. He leaves one brother Maxwell (Nora) Lewis of Pennsylvania and niece and nephew Veronica Corbin and her daughter Nicole and grandson Jayden and Bradford (Cindi) Lewis of Colorado and her sons Alex, Tyler and Danny of Colorado and Virginia. He also leaves his Aunt Joan (Robert) Orne of Connecticut and many cousins in Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois and Alaska.
Arrangements are being handled by All States Cremation Services of Denver, Colorado and there will be no public services. Internment will be conducted at a later date in Maine.
