Former Wiscasset Superintendent of Schools Wayne Dorr is back at the helm, 14 years after he last served in town. The Wiscasset School Committee unanimously voted Dorr in as interim superintendent January 30.
“I’m thrilled,” Dorr told reporters. “I like improving systems, I like helping systems feel better about themselves, and I like challenges. And Wiscasset provides all three.”
Dorr was superintendent in Wiscasset from 1998 to 2000; he’s served the same post in Camden and in Union 44 when Sabattus, Wales and Litchfield comprised it.
Dorr said his office will be on the top floor of the high school. In recent days, he’s been re-establishing his ties with staff he knows from his past service in Wiscasset, he said.
